There is an excitement across the internet as many posts are celebrating the "new" electric car brand called Itaoua, out of the west African nation of Burkina Faso, a dictator governed land, raving that it's the "first" car "manufactured" in the African continent. However when one digs in deeper it all is just a joke and a front for the big dog America.

The brand is owned by Icahn Automotive Group LLC, a wholly owned American company by billionaire Carl Icahn operating renowned brands PEP Boys, AAMCO and Precision tune auto care.

Icahn Enterprises L.P. (NASDAQ: IEP) is the parent company of Icahn Automotive Group LLC, which owns ITAOUA. Icahn Enterprises L.P. formed Icahn Automotive Group LLC to invest in and operate businesses that provide aftermarket parts and services

This just means the plant in Burkina Faso is entirely an assembly line of parts produced outside of the country. In essence there is absolutely no African technology in the car. It's pretty much just tossing a bone to the people, which generally means the workers are getting peanuts and the authoritarian government folks are taking payout from the American oligarch to allow the abuse. The profits go to America.

The other side to the joke is that there is a car OUT OF CHINA called Dongfeng Nammi Box and it is the EXACT product 😂 and it's been on the market for a year. All they did for the dictator of the land is allow the name and logo to be changed. In fact, all the models ASSEMBLED at the ITAOUA building are all of China creations.

The fact of the matter is: The production is just yet another front for a first-world wealthy person to take money out of Africa. It's the reason a dictator governed country was chosen because they can be bought and the democratic republic would either reject or demand the greater percentage of profits and benefit for the people.
