It was 2017 when this short film was produced by David Maddox and Malcolm Morrison, and the new POTUS had been placed in office by folks who preferred conspiracy chatter over anything factual or plausible. Those extremist voters just wanted whatever seemed more comforting and suited their level of rage, hate and belief of anything obviously silly (to intelligent folks), and they were then and still today, a massive group. In their simple minds, a child is the ruler of the house and should be allowed to be as stupid as they desire, and any adult who causes them to be upset by correcting their wrong actions, must be punished. Those kids grow into adults with way more simple minds and now really stupid, and the cycle goes on.
Video Synopsis
Alternative Math is a satirical short film that critiques misinformation and the rejection of objective truth. The story follows a dedicated teacher who gets into trouble after correcting a young student's incorrect math answer. When the student insists that 2+2 equals 22, the teacher firmly states that the correct answer is 4. This seemingly minor incident spirals out of control as the parents, the media, and the school administration accuse her of intolerance and discrimination. The situation escalates into a full-blown controversy, reflecting the absurdity of post-truth culture, political correctness taken to extremes, and the consequences of valuing opinion over facts. The film delivers a sharp, humorous, yet unsettling commentary on society's struggle with truth and accountability.
