The little Reggae band that had a dream and will - Third World losing its founding members

Time certainly brings about the demise of many things that we grow to love, and when what we lose are humans who we tend to view as super beings because they deliver to us something we cannot do, and are celebrated globally, the loss has a lasting effect.

When keyboard player Ibo Cooper and drummer Willie Stewart left the Third World band, it was like the loss of a family member to all of us that only wanted to see that crew on stage. It just never felt like the same band that gave us "96 degrees" or "Satta massagana" or the hit "Now that we found love". However we adjusted and accepted that they moved on to what's best for them and there were still three found brothers on stage.

Then in 2014 we lost that fun guy Bunny to cancer and it was wrenching. How can one cope with this new band? While Ibo was not on stage with the squad, when he passed in 2023, there was yet another tear in the soul and the reality of an era ending was clear. It's now just Cat Coore as an original traveling with his young team as it appears bass player Richie Daley may have parkinson's disease or other which causes him to shake uncontrollably.

Time changes all. Live to the fullest. Be the best with what you were gifted. Leave a legacy.
