Summer Lovin Book Festival
1

On the sixth day of June, the Oviedo Mall hosted their Summer Lovin' Book Festival, a fantastic way to network with local authors and explore new stories. Creativity filled the air as the abundance of booths attracted the mall goers and event attendees. Loads of homemade crafts and unique novels were available to all, making for an unforgettable afternoon.

Pictured above is Caribbean author Lynda R. Edwards, who displays stories about her upbringing and her travels. With books like Redemption Songs, Friendship Estates, and I Am Cuba, Edwards keeps a wide variety of stories to share with everybody. Her work provides audiences with both entertaining stories and meaningful insights into Caribbean culture and history. Edwards was accompanied by Barbara Ann Elder, a fellow author that will be joining together to interview their storybooks at CAP Village, bringing a more personable aspect to their work. Elder has children's stories lined up, such as The Kindness Bus and ¡Suénate La Nariz! Together, the authors aim to create a more personal connection between readers and the stories they love, offering audiences a behind-the-scenes look at the creative process.

Pictured below is a creative example of the variety of homemade crafts featured throughout the event, displayed by Coyote Mae Creations.

Their table served as a colorful marketplace for hand-painted ceramics, showcasing unique pieces that reflected the creativity and craftsmanship of local artisans. By blending visual art with the literary atmosphere of the festival, Coyote Mae Creations offered attendees a fresh perspective on the event, demonstrating how storytelling and artistic expression can come together to create a richer community experience. Their display was just one of many vendor booths that contributed to the festival's vibrant and welcoming environment.. As independent authors and local artists continue to grow their presence throughout Central Florida, events like Summer Lovin' provide valuable opportunities for creators to connect directly with the public while offering visitors a chance to support local talent. The Summer Lovin' Book Festival once again demonstrated the power of books to bring people together, combining literature, art, and community spirit into a memorable experience at Oviedo Mall. With a diverse lineup of authors, handcrafted goods, and enthusiastic attendees, the event left many looking forward to next year's celebration.
